Essure Victims to Speak at the 2014 Bayer Annual Stockholders Meeting

By Michelle Garcia

Miami, Florida: Women injured by Essure are taking their efforts against Bayer and Essure to a global audience. Advocates Michelle Garcia of Miami, Florida and Angela Lynch of Marysville, California will be flying to Germany and have prepared a speech which will be presented by Garcia with the support of the Coalition Against Bayer Dangers, http://www.cbgnetwork.org/4.html, a German based organization with a long history of challenging Bayer.

Garcia and Lynch are two of the leaders of a social media campaign whose focus is to raise awareness to the dangers and damage caused to thousands of women by Essure, an implantable form of birth control which is owned, manufactured and distributed by Bayer.

Almost 7,000 women have now joined the Essure Problems Facebook group founded by Angie Firmalino in 2011. All women report similar issues with significant pain, bleeding and other symptoms. Firmalino is unable to make the trip herself as she is recovering from surgery to remove her uterus which was peppered with metal fragments from her own personal Essure nightmare. “It’s important that Bayer hear from actual victims of the device so they get a true appreciation of the extent of the suffering,” said Firmalino.

Garcia is working with a public speaking coach and is keenly aware the unique opportunity being presented to Essure victims by the CBD. “Speaking on behalf of women injured by Essure is a tremendous responsibility. Women trust me to be their voice and I will not let them down.”

The trip is made possible thanks to the support of hundreds of women who are also victims of Essure. They made personal financial contributions to a fundraiser set up on youcaring.com, http://www.youcaring.com/mission-trip-fundraiser/attend-bayer-stockholders-meeting-in-germany/128423, which enabled Garcia and Lynch cover the trip to Cologne, Germany.
